Under a net metering policy, anyone with an electricity connection in their name from a DISCOM (Distribution company) approved by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) will be eligible to install an on-grid solar PV plant.
Residential individuals, schools, and hospitals registered under non-profit trusts shall be provided with a cost subsidy of 30% of the total benchmark system cost by the central government.
